Extract from LOF News December 2005

I joined the Merchant Navy in 1965 Ulster Steamship Co.
Came ashore in 1967 to be at home for the birth of my son.
Joined LOF in 1969 – 1983 (the big redundancy).
Joined the RUC Reserves in 1983 – 1989.
Re-joined Merchant Navy in 1989 with Blue Star.
Blue Star were taken over by P&O in 1998.
I stayed until compulsory redundancy at age 57 in 2000. I then

ad part-time employment as an electrician in a food manufacturing

London Resolution around 1974

Norman N & RG 2013
Norman became a ‘carer’ for his wife Valerie, who sadly passed
away  a few years ago.

On our visiting Northern Ireland in 2013, we enjoyed a few hours
of Normans great sense of humour.
He was in good health and I was unaware he was taken ill.

Norman passed away peacefully in a hospice.
